TV story of elderly person reveals crisis of traditional morality in Chechnya
A story prepared by the state-run "Grozny" TV and Radio Company about the problems of a resident of the village of Staraya Sunzha, who did not receive help from his children, provoked a resonance among residents of the republic.
In the TV story, Khamid Lorsanov, a resident of Grozny, says that he has ten children, but no one helps him. Meanwhile, eight of the man's children "have long left the republic for living abroad."
Ansar Khetiev, Deputy Mufti of the Chechen Republic, has noted that the Koran contains a note that children should treat their parents with love.
In Instagram, users condemned the inaction of the Khamid Lorsanov's sons.
"It hurts to look at that. Parents are sacred!" wrote user nati_nati_ru.
Meanwhile, residents of Chechnya note that insults against the children of Khamid Lorsanov by journalists and officials are not acceptable.
"It is shameful to leave your father without help, but it is no less shameful to show such a story on TV and to promote the Kadyrov foundation. If you do a good deed do not turn it into a show," said Viskhan, a resident of the republic.
The case when TV broadcasts a story with a Chechen man abandoned by his sons is extraordinary, says Ruslan Kutaev, the chair of the Assembly of the Peoples of the Caucasus. According to him, such actions are condemned in Chechnya, but the problems are solved among relatives.
The demonstration of the TV story showed the weakness of the power of Ramzan Kadyrov, since he failed to build a society with the traditional Chechen values, believes political analyst Alexei Malashenko.
"Ramzan Kadyrov is losing credibility in the republic as a national leader," Alexei Malashenko explained.
