Kadyrov's relative appointed acting Mayor of Argun
The 28-year-old Khas-Magomed Kadyrov, who earlier worked as an assistant to the head of Chechnya and the head of the Grozny's branch of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has been appointed to the post of Mayor of the city of Argun.
In November 2017, Junior Lieutenant Khas-Magomed Kadyrov, a close relative of Ramzan Kadyrov, became the head of MIA's branch of Grozny. Khas-Magomed Kadyrov "knows quite well all the requirements" for the district head, the Chechen MIA has informed. Before that, Khas-Magomed Kadyrov had been heading the drug control department of the Chechen MIA for about a month.
Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, has recalled that Khas-Magomed Kadyrov had worked not only for the MIA, but also as an assistant to the head of Chechnya. The former mayor of Argun, Ibrahim Temirbaev, has resigned, wishing to move to another job, the "Grozny" TV channel has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has repeatedly reported appointments of Ramzan Kadyrov's relatives to high-ranking positions in Chechnya. Thus, on July 15, 2019, Kadyrov's cousin, Idris Baisultanov, became deputy to his fellow villager Galas Taimaskhanov, appointed to the post of the head of the administration of the head of Chechnya.
This demonstrates the family-clannish cadre policy that is characteristic not only for Chechnya, but also for the federal authorities, experts have stated. In their opinion, this is how Kadyrov is strengthening the regime of his personal power.
