Residents of Nalchik have attended the two-day photo exhibition "Remember to Live", dedicated to the 15th anniversary of hostage-taking at Beslan School.

On September 1, 2004, militants took 1128 hostages and kept them in the gym of School No. 1 in the town of Beslan in North Ossetia. In total, 334 of them, including 186 children, perished, other 810 persons were injured.

The photo exhibition "Remember to Live" was organized by the of "Beslan Mothers" Committee; it consists  of 85 photographs and was exposed in the lobby of the State Concert Hall for two days, on August 20 and 21, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who has visited the exhibition, reports.

The photos show terrible hostage-taking scenes at Beslan School. The project "Remember to Live" was conceived by "Beslan Mothers" five years ago, but the opportunity to realize it appeared only in 2019 – the Committee has won a presidential grant for organizing the exhibition, said Aneta Gadieva, a co-chair of the Committee.

The "Beslan Mothers" Committee has set several tasks, the main being to achieve the finalization of the inquiry into the terror act, which is not over yet, 15 years later, Ms Gadieva has stated.

The Nalchik townspeople, who have visited the exhibition, were impressed by the photos. Inga Babaeva, a local resident, said that she relived anew all the emotions that she had experienced in the days of the terror act.
