Tumso doubts Kadyrov's merits in building mosques
Over the 17 years of Kadyrov's rule, a little more than 200 mosques were built in Chechnya, and in total, more than 800 mosques over the years of independence, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has stated with reference to Ramzan Kadyrov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2012, the construction of a new mosque began in the city of Shali, which it was decided to be named after the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. Its opening is scheduled for August 23. In early August, it became known that the mosque will be named "Muslims' Pride".
The Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, devoted his new video to the opening of the Kadyrov's mosque.
In particular, the blogger quoted a video recording of Kadyrov's meeting with the republic's clergy in December 2017, during which Kadyrov recalled the times "when there were no mosques in Chechen villages." "Now we have 1065 mosques in Chechnya. Of them, 202 mosques have been built since we, along with Akhmat-Hadji, took this path," Ramzan Kadyrov stated.
It turns out that more than 800 mosques appeared in the republic in 1991-1999, while during Kadyrov's reign – in 2000-2017 – only 202 mosques were built, Tumso Abdurakhmanov has stated.
In his opinion, this comparison cannot please the head of Chechnya. In conclusion, the blogger states that Ramzan Kadyrov will not get into the history as a mosque builder, even if he builds a thousand of them.
