Rally in Nalchik calls to keep memory of those killed in Beslan

On Tuesday, September 3, in Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkatian Republic (KBR), a solidarity rally against terrorism brought together over 500 people. Young people should know about the Beslan terror acts, the rally participants have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, North Ossetia launched a series of mourning events on the 15th anniversary of the Beslan tragedy.

It's impossible not to recall the "days of universal sorrow", when 1128 people were taken hostage by terrorists in Beslan, of whom 334 persons perished, including 186 children, Sufaddin Shebzukhov, the chairman of the public organization "Peace to Thy House", has stated.

"The more important is the need to unite all the healthy forces of the society in the fight against terrorism and violence," Mr Shebzukhov has added.

Zharashbek Attaev, an activist of the public organization of army veterans, said that "the Beslan tragedy suggests that terrorists have nothing sacred" and they don't hesitate even to assassinate children.

Anzor Lobzhenidze, the head of the "Rioni" Georgian Cultural Centre in the KBR, said that "if you don't talk to the youth about what terrorism is and how dangerous it is, they won't even know this."
