Chechen Diaspora criticizes German authorities after Khangoshvili's murder

The German authorities bear part of the responsibility for the death of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, a native of Pankisi, because they failed to provide him with asylum and put him on the list of extremists, participants of the rally held in Berlin believe. They demanded not to deport natives of Chechnya to Russia, except for Ramzan Kadyrov's supporters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, 2019, Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, a veteran of the second Chechen War, was shot dead in Berlin. On suspicion of committing the murder, a Russian citizen was arrested. The Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, called on European Chechens to hold an action in Berlin demanding to investigate the killing of Khangoshvili.

By a number of signs, the man arrested within the Khangoshvili's murder case has links with Russian special services – this conclusion was made the inquiry conducted by The Insider, the Bellingcat journalistic group, and Der Spiegel.

In the video of the Berlin rally posted on the "Vayfond" Telegram channel, protesters demand to punish the staff of the German immigration officials who failed to provide Khangoshvili with asylum, as well as to consider the asylum requests submitted by Chechen natives in "more detailed manner."

Besides, the participants of the rally are seeking from the German authorities to deport Kadyrov's supporters, as they "are planting their ideology here and are engaged in espionage."

Many protesters are hiding their faces because they are afraid that their participation in the rally may affect the fate of their relatives.
