Chechen women's request for housing results in their apologies to Ramzan Kadyrov
Three women from Chechnya apologized for contacting Ramzan Kadyrov with an appeal in which they stated "they had no shelter to live and no one to help." The Chechen authorities called on relatives of the Chechen applicants to "watch their women," reports the Chechen TV in its story posted on YouTube on September 10.
Aset Elbazurova, Zarema Lorsanova, and Yakhmat Mitisheva are natives of Chechnya who moved to the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt 20 years ago. Now they have appealed to Ramzan Kadyrov with a complaint that "they were living in poor conditions and they had no one to help them," the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) reported in its nightly TV news posted on the YouTube channel on September 10. According to an author of the TV story, the information was not confirmed after the verification: the Chechen women left for Dagestan on their own, while their relatives continued to live in Chechnya.
The TV story showed the Chechen women, who appealed to Ramzan Kadyrov, and their relatives at a meeting with Isa Tumkhadjiev, the first deputy chair of the Chechen Cabinet of Ministers, the chief of the administration of the Chechen leader, the heads of district administrations, and officials from the law enforcement bodies.
Isa Tumkhadjiev addressed male relatives of the Chechen women with a request to "watch their women." "They are your women, and you have to decide the problem. Has there ever been a case when Chechen men failed to watch their women? It's a shame ... Take your women to your home," said the first deputy chair of the Chechen government. He was supported by other officials who attended the meeting.
