Law enforcers disrupt picket of Ingush activist Zarifa Sautieva's sisters

Law enforcers did not bring any charges against two elderly sisters of arrested Ingush activist Zarifa Sautieva after they had been detained during a protest action, reported advocate Bilan Dzugaev. One of the sisters went on a picket in a square with the demand to release Zarifa Sautieva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 12, Zarifa Sautieva was detained in a case on the use of violence at a rally in Magas. Since July 15, she has been under arrest in Nalchik.

The sisters of Ingush activist Zarifa Sautieva were released after their detention at the protest action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Bilan Dzugaev, an advocate of Zarifa Sautieva.

"A sister of Zarifa Sautieva, who was holding a picket near the Concord Tower in Magas, was taken away by unidentified people, most likely (law enforcers)," advocate Bilan Dzugaev wrote on his Facebook page today at about 10 a.m.

An hour later, the advocate reported that law enforcers detained both elderly Zarifa Sautieva's sisters, one of whom suffered from cancer. Bilan Dzugaev also noted that the sisters were taken to a police station in Magas, although the on duty police officers did not confirm to him the information about that. The advocate himself was also not allowed into the police station.

"The sisters were released and let go home. The police did not draw up a protocol against them," Bilan Dzugaev wrote at about 1:00 p.m. Moscow time.
