In Barda, protesters demand to release convicts in Terter case
On October 7, at an action in Barda, relatives of soldiers killed and sentenced in the Terter case demanded to rehabilitate the deceased defendants and release the imprisoned relatives.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that investigation and trials in the Terter case were closed. Eight persons were tortured to death during the investigation, and four of them were later rehabilitated posthumously.
A group of soldiers and civilians was arrested in Baku on the charge of collaborating with the Armenian special services and plotting acts of sabotage. The detainees were suspected of "planning large-scale provocations against units of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) and dwelling settlements of the Terter District."
On October 7, in the city of Barda, relatives of the persons killed and sentenced in the Terter case held a protest rally in front of a military unit of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan. The protesters demanded to rehabilitate the deceased persons, review their cases, and release the imprisoned relatives, the news agency "Turan" reported on October 7.
The protesters wore shirts with portraits of the killed and arrested persons.
