Film by Siberian directors wins Grand Prix of "Kunaki" Festival
The film "Father and Sons from Krotovo" by film directors Valery and Evgeny Solomin has been recognized as the best documentary at the "Kunaki" Film Festival held in Nalchik.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Kunaki" (Friends) North-Caucasian Cinema and TV Festival opened in Nalchik on October 5. Its contest programme comprised 56 films, including works from Kabardino-Balkaria, Dagestan and the Krasnodar Territory.
The Festival was closed on October 9 with the awarding ceremony hosted by the State Concert Hall. The best films, in the opinion of the festival jury, received their awards, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The Festival's Grand Prix went to the "Father and Sons from Krotovo" by directors Valery and Evgeny Solomin. The film tells about a farmer from Siberia Vasily Abramov and his two sons. The film was shot during 10 years; Valery Solomin died, and his son Evgeny finished the filming.
