Kadyrov disowns his claims for federal post
Ramzan Kadyrov has assured that he doesn't want to work outside of Chechnya and has no claims for any federal-level post.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this May the head of Chechnya reacted to information about his possible resignation with an elevation up to Russia's Vice-Premier by demonstrative rejection of his ambitions of a federal official. The head of Chechnya seeks to constantly expand his influence, the political analysts, Dmitry Oreshkin and Alexei Malashenko, stated in December 2018.
Ramzan Kadyrov commented on his possible elevation to the level of a federal official in his interview to the RT Arabic, when he was accompanying Russian President Vladimir Putin during his state visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to Kadyrov, he is ready to leave Chechnya and take up a new position only by Putin's order and if it is dictated by Russia's national interests.
"I have a dream to end my career by completing the work begun by Hero of Russia Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, the first president of the Chechen Republic, and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. My mission is to ensure the well-being of the population," he said as quoted by the "Grozny" TV Channel.
Ramzan Kadyrov has been leading Chechnya since March 2007. In 2017, he at least twice announced his readiness to resign.
