Figurant of Crimea brawl apologizes after Kadyrov's words about youth control

On October 25, the "Grozny" TV Channel posted a video on the Instagram social network about a native of Chechnya who hit a journalist of the "Krym 24" TV Channel in Simferopol for a remark made by him. A resident of Chechnya, Abu Gadjiev, "is already at home, admits his wrongdoing and regrets of what he had done," the author of the report said off screen.

The incident with Gadjiev occurred in central Simferopol on October 18, but information thereon was spread widely only by October 21. A native of Chechnya was riding a motorcycle along the sidewalk, and the journalist made a remark to him; in response, the motorcyclist punched him in his face. The moment of the attack was videoed: the young man shouts at the journalist: "Have you bought the road, I ask?!" after which he sharply punched him in the face. The blow is so strong that the victim could barely keep on his feet.

On October 22, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) aired a story about Ramzan Kadyrov, who condemned the inappropriate behaviour of Chechen youth and demanded to strengthen work with the Chechens living outside the republic.

According to Abu Gadjiev, he understood from comments in social networks that he had cast a shadow over all Chechens with his deed. "I am aware of my mistake; I apologize to my Chechen people. I did wrong, I hurried up. It doesn't decorate a Chechen; for my part it won't happen again," Gadjiev says in Russian to the TV camera.
