Islam Kadyrov apologizes for bullying Grozny residents
Islam Kadyrov, a former Mayor of Grozny, has admitted that his treatment of detained Grozny residents was "inadequate and inappropriate." However, he explained his actions by consequences of his grave traumas.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 24, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) posted video fragments, in which Islam Kadyrov, the then Mayor of Grozny, threatens residents of the Chechen capital with execution and applies an electric shocker (stun gun) to a woman.
Islam Kadyrov commented on his brutal actions against residents of Grozny on November 3 in his interview to Chingiz Akhmadov, a journalist of the ChGTRK.
The former Mayor claims that he did not torture people, who were brought to him, with electric current, but only "frightened them" for trying to benefit from the charity project of the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation.
Islam Kadyrov explained his brutal and cruel treatment of women by his "emotional stress": according to his version, he wanted women to "realize their mistakes," but did not pass them to law enforcement bodies out of pity, because "he didn't want women to be sent to prison."
He apologized for his "unconscious mistakes" to the leadership of Chechnya and the Chechen people, reminding them about his serious traumas – the consequences of several road accidents.
