Court stops cases against supporters of Circassian activist Martin Kochesoko
The Cherkessk City Court has found no offense in actions of activists detained in June 2019 after posting a photo with leaflets in support of Martin Kochesoko.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 16, 2019, several residents of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) held an action in support of Martin Kochesoko, who was detained in the KChR on charges of drug dealing. All the participants of the action held sheets of paper with the inscription "I/we are Martin Kochesoko". On June 18, three of them – Marina Fizikova, Aslan Pseunov and Zurab Pseunov – were detained and charged with violating the rules of holding a rally.
Martin Kochesoko has stated that drugs had been planted on him; while his social activeness became the reason for persecutions.
Zuleta Pseunova, the wife of Aslan Pseunov, was detained together with her husband on June 18, two days after the action. On the same day, another protester, Marina Fizikova, was detained, the "Mediazona" reports.
