Instagram users outraged at video with rape victim in Dagestan
The Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has posted on the Instagram a video depicting a testimony of the minor, of raping whom Musa Aliev, a resident of Mutsalaul, who has reported torture, is suspected. Users have criticized the MIA for posting the video with a child.
According to Aliev, law enforcers beat him up, forcing to confess to raping, and then began threatening his family.
The girl claims that several men came to her home, including Musa Aliev, and raped her. Then, allegedly, Aliev's wife came and threatened her, demanding not to report the incident to the police.
The situation with the minor's raping became known in September 2019, when the girl became pregnant.
Instagram users have emotionally reacted to the girl's words and stood up for law enforcers. Others suggested that it was not worth posting the video.
"Admin, why have you exposed this girl to the whole of Dagestan? Do you think she will be pleased to watch herself on the Internet, moreover, with such facts about her?" the user surprise666satana has asked.
"I know this girl very well; she is mentally retardant; therefore they used her; I pity the child," the user chuzhiasredi has written.
Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer of the Committee against Torture (CaT), who represents Musa Aliev's interests, has treated the fact of posting the video with the girl as an attempt of the MIA to "justify its employees," who had used force during detaining a person.
