NKR reports calmest situation in conflict zone in 10 years

Over 2019, the Azerbaijani Army has violated the ceasefire for about 9000 times, the lowest figure since 2010, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has reported, claiming that there is no progress in resolving the conflict and accusing Azerbaijan thereof.

"The extensive daily engineering and fortification works" on the front line have significantly increased the security of the servicemen, who are on combat duty, and have excluded diversion attacks undertaken by Azerbaijani militaries, the NKR's MoD has stated.

In total, in 2019, according to the NKR's Defence Army, the Azerbaijani party violated the ceasefire regime on the troops contact line for about 9000 times, having fired more than 85,000 shots at Armenian positions.

The NKR's MoD has also recalled that this year marks 25 years since signing the ceasefire.

It should be noted here that, in its turn, the Azerbaijani MoD daily reports about shelling attacks undertaken by Armenia and from the territories under the control of NKR's authorities.
