Chechen law enforcer orders to seize cars from drivers violating traffic regulations
One of the leaders of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division) instructed his subordinates to seize cars from violators of the traffic regulations and send drivers to clean up the streets.
"We should take (offenders) to clean up the streets or make them to clean up mosques. It will be an act of repentance for them," the police officer said on a video posted on Instagram.
The authors of some comments under the video suggested that the police officer was the chief of the Kurchaloi ROVD. Social network users criticized his position.
"On what ground should GIBDD (road police) inspectors seize cars from traffic offenders? Don't you think that the method of Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov contradicts the laws of the Russian Federation?" wrote user rizdus_063.
Let us remind you that on December 20, 2019, a video was posted on social networks in which Zamid Chalaev, a commander of the PPS (post-and-patrol service) regiment named after Akhmat Kadyrov, instructed his subordinates that all offenders should be treated as "traitors" to be "punished."
The local residents interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" declared an intensification of the atmosphere of fear in the republic, while Caucasian experts and human rights defenders noted that the statement voiced by Zamid Chalaev contradicted the Islamic standards and the Russian laws.
