After escaping from her relatives in Baku, the Russian citizen, Sevgiya Ismailova, is in a shelter of one of the NGOs. On January 17, her relatives, in the presence of policemen, returned Ismailova's documents; she is preparing to return to Russia.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on January 15, Polina Vavilina complained to the Russian LGBT Network that her friend, the eighteen-year-old Russian citizen, Sevgiya Ismailova, was forcibly kept in Azerbaijan by her relatives. According to Azerbaijani activists, on January 16, Ismailova managed to escape from the relatives.

Since the evening on January 16, Ismailova has been in Baku in a shelter of one of the NGOs, a local activist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.

According to her story, Ismailova will fly to Russia in the coming days. "Today, accompanied by policemen, Sevgiya went to her mother’s house and took back her passport. Now, her departure to Russia is being prepared, because the girl wants to go there. We’ll buy an air ticket for her; and, probably, she will leave Azerbaijan in the next two days," the activist has added.
