NKR soldier accused of Vagram Avagyan's death

A colleague of Vagram Avagyan, a conscript soldier, who perished in a military unit of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), has been charged with non-statute relations (hazing).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vagram Avagyan died on January 30 from a gunshot wound in a military unit of the NKR's Defence Army. The Investigating Committee of Armenia reported that three Avagyan's colleagues were detained. His relatives have held a protest rally, demanding not to treat his death as a suicide.

David Movsesyan, an Avagyan's colleague, has been charged under the article "Violation of the statute relations of military servicemen in the absence of their subordination relations, entailing grave consequences due to negligence", as Naira Arutyunyan, the press secretary of the Investigating Committee of Armenia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Under this article, Movsesyan faces up to eight years in prison.
