In Azerbaijan, school exams cancelled because of coronavirus

The final exams at schools and competitions of the Youth and Women's Leagues by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan, scheduled for March 9, were cancelled because of the threat of the coronavirus spread.

The State Examination Centre (SEC) of Azerbaijan has cancelled a common final exam of the nine-year secondary education earlier scheduled for March 9 in four cities and 23 regions of the country. "The decision was made in accordance with urgent measures to prevent the risk that the coronavirus could provoke in Azerbaijan," the SEC announces today.

The exam is postponed indefinitely.

In its turn, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) cancelled till March 10 all matches and competitions in all age categories of the Youth League and Women's Leagues.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by the AFFA that matches of the Premier League and the First Division scheduled for the weekend may be cancelled if necessary, but so far, no such decision has been made.
