Attempt on Tumso triggers splash of his opponents' activeness in Chechnya
Over the week after the attack on Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Chingiz Akhmadov, the head of the pro-governmental "Chechnya Today" News Agency, placed four posts on the Instagram, in which he ridiculed the blogger's version of the assassination attempt. Some social network users have condemned Tumso's opponents for their persistent attempts to expose the blogger as a liar.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above attack on Tumso Abdurakhmanov was committed on February 26, when the attacker penetrated his apartment with a hammer. Abdurakhmanov managed to disarm him and called the police. Both were hospitalized. On March 3, it became known that Swedish law enforcers suspected Ruslan Mamaev, a Russian citizen, of attempting to kill Tumso Abdurakhmanov.
From February 27 to March 4, Chingiz Akhmadov placed eight posts in his Instagram page; four of them are on the attack on Tumso Abdurakhmanov. In them, Akhmadov makes fun of the blogger's version of the attack. In particular, the head of the "Chechnya Today" reported that he had conducted an "experiment to show what happens when you hit something with all your force with a hammer."
In his posted video, Chingiz Akhmadov smashes bricks and a wooden tabletop with a hammer, and also leaves noticeable dents on a metal bucket and a construction helmet. This, according to his version, Abdurakhmanov's version that the attacker struck him many blows with a hammer casts doubt.
Many commentators to the video found the "experiment" with a hammer more convincing than Tumso's version. Only a few users have criticized the position of the head of a pro-governmental news agency.
“If the Swedish police confirm the Tumso's version, then, I wonder what you'll say," the user shaxban_yusupov has written to Akhmadov.
