Kadyrov's statement about coronavirus sets Facebook users laughing
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has reacted to the coronavirus threat with philosophical speculations about the death and said that a drink with honey and lemon would help to avoid coronavirus infection.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that political and religious figures of Chechnya reacted to the spread of coronavirus with original statements. Thus, Salakh Mezhiev, the Mufti of Chechnya, has treated the epidemic originated in China as a manifestation of Lord's anger and associated it with persecutions of Muslims in this country.
Mr Kadyrov has urged not to be afraid of coronavirus and strengthen the body with folk remedies. "People die from the flu in thousands. This is the same virus. Those who have health will carry it; those who haven't it won't. To strengthen your immunity, mix water with lemon and honey, drink it and sit at home; then, it won't reach you. Eat garlic; and your blood will be clean," the BBC Russian Service has translated the speech of the head of Chechnya.
Earlier, Kadyrov assured in his Telegram channel that the republic's authorities "are taking comprehensive measures to control the situation."
