Abkhazia announces preliminary outcomes of presidential election

The winner of the presidential election in Abkhazia is Aslan Bzhaniya, who gained 56.5% of the voters, the republic's Central Election Commission (CEC) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 22, residents of Abkhazia voted at the presidential election.

Three candidates ran for the presidency: Aslan Bzhaniya, the leader of the opposition; Adgur Ardzinba, a Vice-Premier; and Leonid Dzapshba, a former interior minister.

The CEC has received no information about the violations that could affect the election outcomes, the "Sputnik Abkhazia" has reported.
