Kadyrov publicly rebukes resident of Chechnya for drinking wine
The head of Chechnya, the Mufti and republic's senior officials came to Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, a resident of the village of Gekhi, and chastised him for drinking alcohol with women after the latter posted a video, where he mockingly speaks about quarantine measures with a glass of wine in hand. Then, Akhmetkhanov apologized on air of the state TV Company.
In one of several videos spread among WhatsApp users, a man sits in a group of several people, including women. A bonfire is burning, and the lezginka sounds. "The quarantine is strong," say laughing female voices behind the scene. "Oh, quarantine," says a man says looking at the dancers.
In another video, the man holds a glass of wine in his hand. "Damn the one who says that we shouldn't drink," the man says while drinking, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
A fragment of the video with wine was also shown in the news programme put on air on April 1 on by the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State IV and Radio Company). Ramzan Kadyrov personally came to Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, who lives in Gekhi, accompanied by Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament; Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to the head of Chechnya; Ruslan Alkhanov, the Interior Minister of Chechnya; Elkhan Suleimanov, the Minister of Public Health; and the Chechen Mufti. Kadyrov rebuked Akhmetkhanov. "Why are you dropping your honour and the honour of the Chechen people?" Kadyrov asks in the video shown in the news programme.
The report of the Grozny ChGTRK emphasizes that Akhmetkhanov has apologized, saying that he drank wine because he was celebrating his birthday.
