NKR counts 170 shelling attacks committed by Azerbaijan

During the past week, Azerbaijani militaries fired over 1300 rounds at the positions of the Defence Army, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 22-28, the NKR accused Azerbaijan of 150 shelling attacks.

"From March 29 to April 4, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire on the contact line of the armed forces of Artsakh (the NKR) and Azerbaijan for about 170 times, by firing more than 1300 shots from different-calibre small arms in the direction of Armenian position," says the today's message of the NKR's MoD, which was translated by the of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

As of 01:50 p.m. Moscow time on April 4, the Azerbaijani MoD has not commented on this message on its website. In its turn, over the past 24 hours, the Azerbaijani side counted 23 shelling attacks undertaken by Armenia.

After the escalation of the Karabakh conflict in April 2016, the parties to the conflict agreed on a ceasefire, but the confrontation did not stop. In 2019, Azerbaijan registered a period of almost complete ceasefire on the front, which lasted about a month, and Nagorno-Karabakh announced the lowest number of shelling attacks on its positions within 10 years.
