Dissatisfaction with food aid indicates thefts at Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation

Part of the food aid from the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation does not reach people in need because of corruption among low-ranking employees, suggest Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, and political analyst Alexei Malashenko after a video criticizing the food aid package.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Mokhmad-Selim Alimkhanov, a resident of the Khambi-Irze village, posted on WhatsApp a video with his apologies for his earlier video criticizing the authorities for the food aid package he had got. Instagram users criticized Mokhmad-Selim Alimkhanov for his ingratitude and suggested that he had apologized under pressure.

On April 3, the Chechen authorities allocated three kilograms of tomatoes and three loaves of bread to each family in need and each family of killed law enforcers, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) reported. In his video, the resident of the Khambi-Irze village showed two loaves of bread and five green tomatoes.

There is grassroots corruption at the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, believes Ruslan Kutaev. Political analyst Alexei Malashenko also suggests that low-ranking employees of the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation can appropriate part of the aid.

When criticizing charitable help, the resident of Chechnya went against the Islamic tradition, notes sociologist Lidia Kurbanova. "In Chechnya, traditional societies lived in rather tough economic conditions. The Adats suggest that any help should be greeted with gratitude," Lidia Kurbanova emphasized.

In Islam, there is a tradition to thank for any help, emphasizes lawyer Leonid Syukiyainen. "Islam does not approve asking for help, but if you got it and it is help, not mockery, then you should thank, not grumble," Leonid Syukiyainen explained.
