Dozens of social network users join online campaign in support of Gadjiev
For the second week in a row, some 20-30 people are supporting virtual pickets demanding to release the Dagestan journalist Abdulmumin Gadjiev.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev's colleagues and friends are regularly hold pickets demanding his release. However, on March 30, pickets were changed over into the online format due to the restrictions introduced because of coronavirus.
Abdulmumin Gadjiev, the editor of the religion section of the "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly and website, in under arrest since June 2019; his detention was extended until May 13, 2020.
Virtual pickets are held on the Facebook and the Instagram; at least 20 persons take part in them, said Idris Yusupov, a journalist.
Arsen Magomedov, a lawyer, has added that the Pyatigorsk court has about 120 complaints about the decisions of the Supreme Court of Dagestan on the refusal to sanction public actions in support of Gadjiev.
