"Now, 2650 people live in the village, including 770 pensioners. Over 1000 of them suffer from a catarrhal viral disease. 23 of them are in grave condition and placed in the central district hospital; other 65 villagers are on outpatient treatment," Mr Medjidov has stated, adding that in March and April, 12 people died, most of them, eight persons, died over the past seven days; all who died were older than 60. "Two persons die per day. It's very hard to bear." Earlier, some 15-17 people died in per year in the village, he has noted.

According to the village head, the reason for the high mortality is in the deficit of drugs and the absence of medics to treat this disease and X-ray equipment.
