Quarantine toughened in Georgian municipality of Tetritskaro
A total of 85 residents of the Tetritskaro municipality will be moved to a strict quarantine zone; the issue of supplying foodstuffs to them is being addressed, the district authorities have informed.
During the last 24 hours, the number of newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Georgia has increased by 27; the total number of cases has reached 566, says the specially created website stopcov.ge. The number of those recovered is 184; 6 people died. There are 5243 people under the quarantine regime; and 550 patients are under supervision in hospitals, says the website.
In the Tetritskaro municipality of the Kvemo Kartli Region, a strict quarantine has been introduced after a coronavirus outbreak was recorded there, most of the cases are in the medical staff. Block posts have been deployed at the entrances to the municipality, but its villages are not closed.
85 residents of the Tetritskaro municipality will be placed into quarantine zones, said Shota Rekhviashvili, the state representative of Kvemo Kartli. According to his story, the decision was made to prevent coronavirus spread.
Mr Rekhviashvili has also noted that everything is being done in the strict quarantine zone to provide people with the necessary services. "Large-scale disinfection works have been carried out. The people's needs have been fully studied. As for the delivery of foodstuffs and some services – everything will be provided on site. The bank will work," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has translated Rekhviashvili' words, voiced out on the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel.
