Chechen officials differ in assessing Kadyrov's condition
Ramzan Kadyrov is healthy, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, said after reports of hospitalization of the head of the region with suspicion of COVID-19. However, Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor to the head of Chechnya, said that he was praying for Kadyrov's recovery.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 21, an "Interfax" source reported that Kadyrov had suspected coronavirus, but this information was not officially confirmed.
Speaker Daudov has treated on the Instagram the information about Kadyrov's illness as "gossip," but did not explain where Kadyrov was.
In his turn, Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to the head of Chechnya, wrote in a social network that members of "Kadyrov's team" were praying for him, asking him to "get healed from any ailment." He also noted that "countless people," "starting from President Vladimir Putin," are worrying about Kadyrov.
The officials' statements are unconvincing, said Aslan, a Chechen resident. "Delimkhanov refutes this information so vaguely that it only strengthens the people's suspicion about the grave condition of his boss," said the local resident.
Should Kadyrov's COVID-19 be confirmed, the entire republic's leadership would have to stay in quarantine for two weeks, Madina believes.
Residents of Chechnya have noted that Kadyrov was missing in the media space amid reports of his possible hospitalization.
Let us remind you that in March Kadyrov jokingly declared that he had already had coronavirus.
