ICRF confirms report about four militants killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

Today, in the Chegem District, four members of a terrorist organization have been killed during the detention. The suspects were plotting a terror act, the FSB reported.

According to investigators, at about 8:00 a.m., agents of the FSB Department and the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE, also known as Centre "E") of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) encountered an armed grouping of four persons in a forest near the village of Lechinkai. The suspects rested at a camp equipped for a long stay. When requested by law enforcers to surrender, the suspects started shooting and were killed by return fire, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

"There were no injuries among the law enforcers. Four firearms, ammunition, and grenades were seized at the scene," reported the spokesman for the ICRF's Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.

No information about the identification of the killed suspects was reported. The FSB announced that all four of the killed suspects were members of the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.
