Moscow police treat conflict between natives of Armenia and Azerbaijan as hooliganism and robbery

In Moscow, more than 25 people were taken to police stations after a mass fight between natives of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and one person was injured, the police reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on July 23-24, clashes took place in Moscow between natives of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The law enforcement bodies reported about the detention of 13 participants of one of the fights, in which a native of Armenia had been wounded.

After the nighttime events in Maryino, more than 25 people were taken to police stations, the police reported.

"Measures can be taken with regard to foreign citizens to impose temporary restrictions on their entries into the Russian Federation for a period of five years <...> Criminal cases have been instituted on the constituent elements of crimes provided for in Articles 213 and 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the Department for Moscow of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports on its website today.

Article 213 "Disorderly conduct" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for up to seven years of imprisonment, while Article 162 "Robbery" of the Criminal Code provides for up to eight years of imprisonment.
