Kuban coordinator of "Golos" complains about threats from law enforcers

David Kankiya claimed that law enforcers stopped him in the street and demanded to give them his mobile phone, while threatening with an arrest. Today, the activist has associated the law enforcers' actions with the training of observers at the election of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory launched by the movement "Golos" (Vote).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 11-13, the Krasnodar Territory will hold the voting at the election of the regional governor.

According to David Kankiya, the law enforcers stopped him in Krasnodar. "They refused to produce their IDs, but it was clear that they were specifically interested in me. They asked me to show them my ID and said that I allegedly looked like a criminal from operation information bulletin. I showed them my passport and my journalistic ID. The policeman immediately seized it. They began to demand to give them my mobile phone and show them my IMEI number," David Kankiya wrote on his Facebook page.

The activist notes that he does not consider the request of the law enforcers to show the IMEI number of his mobile device as justified, although he obeyed to their request. "They began to threat to arrest me for failure to comply with the lawful order of the policemen," the "Kavkaz.Realii" quotes today David Kankiya as noting.

The activist associates the incident with the fact that the movement "Golos" launched the training of observers during the voting at the elections of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory and members of the Krasnodar City Duma.
