Azerbaijan reports 36 shelling attacks from Armenian side

Armenian military servicemen have violated the ceasefire for 36 times by using large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, Azerbaijan counted 38 shelling attacks committed by Armenia.

"During the last 24 hours, units of the Armed Forces of Armenia, by using large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles, violated the ceasefire for 36 times in different sections of the frontline," the Azerbaijani MoD has stated in its website today.

According to the MoD, positions of the Azerbaijani Army stationed in the villages of Agdam, Agbulag and Mundjuglu of the Tovuz District came under fire.

As of 9:00 a.m. Moscow time today, the MoDs of Armenia and the NKR had failed to comment on this statement on their websites.

Let us remind you that escalation of the conflict on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan took place on July 12. According to the official information, in the period from July 12 to July 27, six soldiers from the Armenian side were killed and other 38 people were injured, including 35 soldiers, two policemen, and one civilian. The authorities of Azerbaijan reported about 13 killed and four wounded soldiers.
