Chechen residents dispute Ramzan Kadyrov's opinion on vaccine against COVID-19

Ramzan Kadyrov declared the unconditional confidence of the Chechen authorities in developers of a Russian vaccine against coronavirus. The leader of Chechnya also announced mass vaccination, starting with elderly people. Local residents fear that the vaccine is insufficiently tested and do not want to be vaccinated.

The Chechen Ministry for Public Health announces that there is no talk of widespread vaccination yet. However, Instagram users suggest that the vaccination campaign will be not voluntarily.

Elkhan Suleimanov, Chechen Minister for Public Health, announced that the vaccination of teachers against COVID-19 would be launched in the republic in late September-early October. The teachers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" spoke out strongly against the vaccination.

Officials' statements concerning their willingness to be vaccinated against the coronavirus infection are not convincing, Instagram user drdty56 writes.

Residents of the Chechen Republic say they are not going to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

"Whoever wants, let him do it, but neither I nor my family members will do that. We are not guinea pigs," Dokka emphasizes.

"I am more afraid of that vaccination than of the coronavirus infection itself. I will never participate in the vaccination voluntarily," notes Roza, a resident of Grozny.
