In Dagestan, visitors to "Tangim" mosque report about enhanced police raids on Fridays

In Makhachkala, about 50 law enforcers were on duty in front of the "Tangim" mosque after the Friday prayer. The Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) explained holding the raid by security reasons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers regularly carry out Friday raids in the area of the "Tangim" mosque. In late March, the mosque was closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, when the "Tangim" mosque was opened, the police also continued to conduct their raids every week.

Law enforcers acted in accordance with the usual scheme: they stopped visitors leaving the territory of the "Tangim" mosque and wrote down their personal data, journalist Idris Yusupov reported.

"They mainly stopped those believers with the distinctive features of mosque visitors, including beards," the journalist added.

Magomed, a visitor to the "Tangim" mosque, noted that a week earlier, there were much fewer policemen in front of the mosque.
