Azerbaijani civilians killed in shelling of two districts

Four people were killed and three others more were wounded during the shelling of dwelling settlements located in the Terter and Agdam Districts of Azerbaijan. The shells have damaged gas pipelines and power lines in five districts, authorities have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, combats broke out in the Karabakh conflict zone.

On September 28, two civilians, brothers Khalig and Elshan Abbasov, were killed as a result of a shell explosion in the yard of a multi-storey building in the Shikh Arkh settlement in the Tartar District. The eldest of the brothers, Khalig, was 39 years old, the youngest, Elshan was 33, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Azerbaijan has reported.

Two other residents of the same building were wounded, the GPO has added.

The casualties and the wounded young people were in the yard when a shell exploded near the building, local resident Fariz Mamedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In the morning on September 28, Mekhman Aliev, 45, another resident of the Terter District, was killed when an artillery shell hit the building of the district court in the city of Terter, says another message of the Azerbaijani GPO. Three more persons were wounded.

According to the GPO, as a result of the shelling of the Evoglu village in the Agdam District, Djoshgun Pashaev, a 41-year-old local resident, was killed.

In its turn, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy reported about the destruction of gas pipelines in the villages of Borsunlu and Gulebendii of the Terter District, and in the district centre Terter; it was a result of the shelling attacks on these settlements.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has condemned the shelling of civilians and infrastructure facilities. "By deliberately striking the civilian population and infrastructure of Azerbaijan, the Armenian side has grossly violates the norms and principles of the international law," the MFA's spokesman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
