Chechen authorities disclose names of suspects killed in Grozny
The suspected militants killed today in a shootout with law enforcers in Grozny have been identified. All four of them were wanted and hiding abroad, including in Syria, Ramzan Kadyrov announced.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in the Oktyabrsky District of Grozny, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced for the first time since December 2016. Law enforcers cordoned off a house in which, according to their information, the suspected militants were hiding. As a result of the shootout, four suspected militants, two fighters of the National Guard of Russia, and one policeman were killed.
The suspects killed in Grozny by the law enforcers were on the wanted list, Ramzan Kadyrov announced. "Recently, those 'shaitans' (demons) have been on the run outside of Russia. They were hiding in Syria and other countries. <...> They have returned and decided to commit a series of terror acts," the leader of Chechnya stated in his Telegram channel.
Ramzan Kadyrov posted photographs of 32-year-old Mairbek Imamurzaev, registered in the village of Darbankhi in the Gudermes District, and three natives of Grozny, including 24-year-old Magomed Tsuraev, 27-year-old Magomed Magomadov, and 28-year-old Ramzan Murtazaliev. Regarding the latter, it is noted that since 2014, he had been suspected of involvement in the ranks of militants.
