Nagorno-Karabakh reports about 49 soldiers killed over a day

Men of military age can leave the unrecognized republic only with a special pass, and restrictions on movement have also been introduced within the region, reports Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh. The death toll among the soldiers of the Defence Army has reached 558.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 10, an agreement on ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but the parties to the conflict continued to report about battles and shelling attacks.

Today, in a post on Facebook, Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the Ministry of Defence of Armenia, has reported that 49 military personnel of Nagorno-Karabakh were killed over the past 24 hours.

According to the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh, in total, 558 soldiers of the Defence Army and 31 civilians were killed, while other 106 civilians were injured. According to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, 43 civilians were killed, and 214 others were injured as a result of shelling attacks.

Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh, has announced the introduction of restrictions on the movement of residents in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Restrictions have been imposed on departure for citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, subject to a mobilization call, and they may leave the republic only in special cases if they have a pass issued by the commandant," Araik Arutyunyan has announced on his Facebook page today.
