Armenian MFA counts refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh war

Due to the shelling of dwelling settlements, about 90,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have left their homes, Zograb Mnatsakanyan, the head of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 23 in the afternoon, the city of Martakert (the Azerbaijani name is Agdere) came under fire; missile and air strikes were committed on the city, the Emergency Situations Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported.

The cities and villages of Nagorno-Karabakh are under constant shelling by drones, missiles, and come under airstrikes, the Armenian MFA has stated. As a result, "about 90,000 people became refugees and lost their homes and property," the RIA "Novosti" has quoted Mr Mnatsakanyan as saying.

There are up to 8000 destroyed infrastructure facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports.

On October 23, Minister Mnatsakanyan held meetings with the US Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, and the US National Security Assistant, Robert O'Brien; the topic was the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The Armenian Foreign Minister has called them productive, the TASS reports.
