Third armistice in Nagorno-Karabakh comes into force

A new agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone has come into force today at 8:00 a.m. local time. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, following the President of Nagorno-Karabakh, has promised this time to stick to the ceasefire agreement.

On October 24, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Zograb Mnatsakanyan and Djeikhun Bairamov, met Stephen Bigan, First Deputy US Secretary of State, and agreed that the next ceasefire agreement would come into force on October 26.

Today, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated that the Azerbaijani army fully complies with the ceasefire regime. "Along the entire frontline, units of the Azerbaijani Army are fully observing the humanitarian ceasefire, which came into force on October 26 at 8:00 a.m.," says the MoD's press release, which was translated by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Armenian authorities have also announced their readiness to comply with the ceasefire agreement. "The Armenian side will fully comply with the ceasefire regime from 8:00 a.m.," the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, has been quoted as saying by the "Sputnik-Armenia".
