Yerevan reports on successful operation to free militaries in Gadrut District

Russian peacemakers have helped Armenian militaries to escape the cordoning near the villages of Khin Takher and Khtsaberd, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 15, the Nagorno-Karabakh's Defence Army lost contact with its personnel stationed at several combat posts in the vicinity of the villages of Khtsaberd (the Azeri name is Chailakkala) and Khin Takher (Kyokhne Taglar). Residents of the Shirak Region of Armenia blocked the Gyumri-Yerevan highway, stating that dozens of their fellow countrymen had been captured in the Gadrut District. According to the data of the Karabakh Ombudsperson, about 60 soldiers were captured near the village of Khtsaberd.

Earlier, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh stated that the fate of 73 soldiers who had disappeared in the region of the Khin Takher and Khtsaberd communities was still unknown. Their search was carried out with the support of Russian peacemakers.
