Djabiev's widow relies on Medvedev's authority in South Ossetia

Oksana Sotieva, Inal Djabiev's widow, has asked Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president, to help in achieving punishment of those responsible for her husband's death; she relies on Medvedev's great authority in South Ossetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Inal Djabiev's relatives have been holding an endless protest action in Tskhinvali since December 4.

The protesters would not disperse, insisting on their demands. "Despite the cold weather and snow that fell down during the night and continues now, the protest action in Theatre Square continues. The place where the protesters and the Djabiev family are staying is covered with an awning; they have gas heating there," - said the December 23 post on the Instagram-public chp_tskhinval.

Besides, the above Instagram public has posted a photo of Oksana Sotieva's appeal to Dmitry Medvedev, now Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, dated December 22. She asks Medvedev to help to achieve fair punishment for those responsible for her husband's death. The woman explains her appeal by the fact that Medvedev has "unquestionable authority" in South Ossetia, since, while in Russia's presidency, he signed, on August 26, 2008, after the five-day war, a decree recognizing the independence of South Ossetia.
