In Yerevan, five protestors still kept in SIZO

The Investigative Committee of Armenia launches an investigation into a criminal case on an attempt to seize the building of the Armenian government. Five participants of a protest action in Yerevan are detained.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 28, activists gathered for a protest action with the demand of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. The protestors tried to break through the police cordon in front of the government building. Twenty-six people were detained.

Ruben Melikyan, the head of the human rights organization "Legal Path", reported the names of the detainees. "According to my information, politician Aragats Akhoyan, public figure Vaagn Chakhalyan, boxer Israel Akopkokhyan, and film director Arshak Zakaryan have been detained. The police have detained one more person, but there is no information about him yet," the "Sputnik Armenia" quotes Ruben Melikyan as saying.
