Chechen authorities try to prevent republic's natives from participating in protests

The intercession for Said-Mukhammad Djumaev has shown that Chechen authorities are trying to control the Chechen youth not only in the republic, but also abroad, according to Svetlana Gannushkina, the head of the Civil Assistance Committee, and Ruslan Kutaev, President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Said-Mukhammad Djumaev, a native of Chechnya, after a rally in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, in Moscow, was detained and accused of using violence against a state servant. On January 29, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, said that Djumaev had deliberately come to the protest action in Moscow, although a Chechen cannot support Navalny. Daudov's subscribers on the Instagram have condemned Djumaev's "disobedience" for not taking advantage of the offer of help from Adam Delimkhanov, while other social media users have sympathized with Djumaev.

Daudov's statement about Djumaev and his second meeting with the student mean forcing Djumaev to apologize, Svetlana Gannushkina believes. In her opinion, the media activity of Kadyrov's associates in relation to Djumaev is caused by the fact that the head of Chechnya believes that Djumaev casts shadow on all immigrants from Chechnya.

Chechen authorities have already demonstrated their influence on the Chechens, who had been noticed in some unseemly actions, when people were harshly criticized in public, forced to apologize, etc., Ms Gannushkina has noted.

Daudov's call is also a consequence of authorities' fear of Chechens' and Caucasians' mass participation in future demonstrations, Ruslan Kutaev believes.
