Kadyrov lifts mask regime

Starting from today, in Chechnya, people do not need to wear masks in public places, and restrictions on crossing the border of the region have also been lifted, Ramzan Kadyrov announces.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, and other top-ranking officials in Chechnya have repeatedly threatened local residents with high fines for failure to comply with the mask regime. Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov himself and Chechen officials ignore the mask regime, local residents note.

At a meeting of the operational headquarters to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, Ramzan Kadyrov announced lifting the mask regime.

"Today, we lift the regime of mandatory wearing of masks in public places in the Chechen Republic. At the same time, we strongly recommend wearing masks due to the fact that the threat of COVID-19 is still high for those who are at risk or have not yet been ill," reported the leader of Chechnya on his Telegram channel.

Ramzan Kadyrov announces that the epidemiological situation in Chechnya "is developing in a favourable way." "We also lift restrictions on movement across the borders of the republic," wrote the leader of Chechnya on his Telegram channel.
