FSB reports about detention of terrorists in Dagestan and Kuban
Today, the press service for the Russian FSB has reported about the detention of members of the international terrorist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami"* in 10 regions of Russia, including Dagestan and the Krasnodar Territory. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, one member of the "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami"*, a native of Uzbekistan, was detained in Dagestan.
The members of the terrorist organization "disseminated among residents of the Russian Federation a militant Islamist terrorist ideology, combined with intolerance towards other religions, and also recruited Russian Muslims into the ranks of the international terrorist organization," the FSB press service reports.
The FSB seized from the detainees some propaganda materials and means of communications. Territorial investigating bodies have launched investigations into criminal cases instituted against seven detainees, the FSB reports today on its official website.
One member of the terrorist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami"*, a native of Uzbekistan, was detained in Dagestan. The suspect has been staying on the territory of the republic since 2019 and has been working as an unskilled worker in the village of Khebda in the Shamil District. According to the intelligence services, the detainee was in contact with the Ukrainian centre of the terrorist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami"*. The law enforcement bodies are preparing documents for the deportation of the suspect to his homeland, the "Youth of Dagestan" reports today with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.
* "Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami" (Party of Islamic Liberation) is an international Islamic political organization banned in Russia by the court's decision.
