Protests in Yerevan end with march

On February 20, thousands gathered in Yerevan for a rally dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Karabakh movement. At the rally, opposition leaders voiced out their demand for the resignation of the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. Activists, while chanting "Armenia without Nikol", blocked several streets in the country's capital.

The protests ended with a march along the central streets to the Republic Square. The police accompanied the procession. A couple of times the situation escalated because of statements of some people present against the opposition; however, the verbal skirmishes were stopped by policemen, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported from the venue.

Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a member of the Supreme Council of the ARF "Dashnagtsutyun", the coordinator of the protest movement, has announced new disobedience actions to be held throughout the country. "Without haste and doubt, we'll achieve the resignation of the government," he has stated.
