Ingush advocate claims receiving threats from Daudov
Advocate Magomed Bekov got a voice message through a messenger “with indirect threats” on behalf of Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament. Magomed Bekov associates the threats with his post in support of opposition leader Magomed Khazbiev.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 4, Ingush activist Magomed Khazbiev claimed that Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, and Adam Delimkhanov, a member of the State Duma, declared a blood feud against him after a video criticizing the Chechen authorities for their harsh reaction to the terror act in Grozny.
Magomed Bekov is engaged in defending the Ingush activists prosecuted after clashes between protesters and the police in Magas in March 2019. In particular, Magomed Bekov is one of the defenders of Zarifa Sautieva, accused of creating an extremist community together with six other leaders of the protest in Ingushetia.
Magomed Bekov was also involved in a conflict between the Timurziev and Sultygov teips (family clans) and the leaders of Chechnya. The advocate criticized the authorities of both republics – Chechnya and Ingushetia – for the absence of any reaction to the declaration of blood feud against the Timurziev and Sultygov teips.
