Chechen authorities expand practice of coercion to vaccination

Residents of Chechnya are forced to get vaccinated against coronavirus by threats to evacuate one’s car, refusal to provide medical care or issue some documents, sources told the “Caucasian Knot”. People who have already been vaccinated are involved in promoting vaccination.

Threats with dismissal and enterprise closures are used in Chechnya to coerce vaccination. Without a vaccination certificate, it is difficult for residents of the republic to go shopping or visit a café.

In Chechnya, law enforcers are conducting raids to force people to get vaccinated. On July 1, in the Kurchaloi and Vedeno Districts, law enforcers conducted raids against unvaccinated motorists. Those found unvaccinated were forced to go to hospital and get vaccinated. Those who refused had their cars evacuated to the police car park.

One of the republic's hospitals refused to take a pregnant unvaccinated patient, a source has informed.

Another source reported a refusal to issue a passport to an unvaccinated applicant.

On July 1, a video clip was posted on the Instagram of the “Grozny” TV Channel, in which Nur-Magamed Yusupov, a reporter, spoke about his vaccination experience. "To be honest, nothing supernatural happened to me after I was vaccinated. That is, I felt good," he said.

Then, the reporter urged residents of the republic to get vaccinated.
